  • by the way, check out that video here on Youtube featuring Jay Z and Paul McCartney performing his song "Yesterday": wow! great "rap" input there Jay Z: a bunch of "uh-huh"s, "that's right" and other stinkin' stuff like that

  • maybe Obama is saying this as a means of proving his solidarity with black people (who mostly grow up on hip-hop & the like); but that doesn't justify anything; I'm surprised he said nothing about jazz or classical; great, he mentioned Jay Z but not, say, Louis Armstrong or Duke Ellington or other greats;

  • simply put, most hip-hop & rap SUCKS EGGS! (except some choice few songs - mostly original stuff like Rapper's Delight or songs by Grand Masta Flash and the Furious Five.

  • we currently have the misfortune of living in this day and age where the million-selling singles are not songs like "Bohemian Rhapsody", with such aesthetic intricacy & musical complexity (all in pop/rock song!) as to cater to the musical tastes and needs of a sophisticated human being; sadly, the songs that make the big bucks are hip-hop-ish songs with the same old chords and same old musical structure as a million other songs, with a melodic line that a one-year-old could probably write.

  • I agree with what he says about the "old school stuff", but I'm actually surprised he likes hip-hop so much. Nobody seems to realise hip-hop is, aesthetically speaking, worthy of little appreciation. Just because something is enormously popular does not mean that something is in good taste;

  • i've never heard such a profound opinion on rap music

  • but is it "good" music? LOL

    joking, just joking, don't get twisted!

  • you know, white people make music too Barry.

  • want to chat with singles

    comment me back 5i

  • good for him
