I met Ron at a homeless shelter in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. His story is far from usual.

Ron lived in Boston with his wife and kids. He ended up in the custody of Homeland Security and was deported back to Canada with only the clothes on his back. Ron admits he has a drinking problem, and the infraction was driving without a license, yet deporting a man into homelessness and not allowing him to see his family seems a little harsh!

For 20 years he cannot go back to the United States to see his family!

*** after this interview I took Ron to Walmart to buy him some clothes [http://bit.ly/wOXUgw] The day was also documented by New Brunswick's famous blogger Charles LeBlanc [http://bit.ly/nEWDTS]

  • If his family loves him so much why don't they simply leave Boston and move to another state with him and start over?

  • I 100% support what you're doing. God bless you.

  • @PYSCOPOMP You have my support. Peace and love to you.

  • Sad situation...I got the feeling listening to his interview that he's passing himself off as the victim. His poor choices got him deported not the judge or homeland security. This wasn't his first run in with the law so he's been given multiple chances before. To top it off he's been collecting disability, money meant for truly disabled people all at the cost of American taxpayers. He looks perfectly capable of work to me. People that con the govt to get free handouts have no sympathy from me.

  • I AM JUST PISSED OFF AT THIS!!! What can I do to help???

  • wow and i look at mitt romney and just sake my head.......

  • Well, he can't enter the United States period for atleast 20 years as his status stand with homeland security..and like he said his folks would come and visit him up in Canada but they can barely makes ends meet as it is back in Boston, so buying a plane tickets or driving all the way up there paying gas money isn't something they can afford. He wants to go back home with his family more than anything but he can't afford lawyers to reverse his situation...he's got nothing but clothes now

  • Can't his family make the effort to come see him? or is that not allowed either? It just does not sound right to me at all. There has to be more to this than just his drinking problem, but that is just me. It seems like half truths here and avoiding the real truth...shrugs.

  • everybody's got something, weatherer it a vice of habit or what have you. Ron, i wish you all my hopes and prayers, and wish i could help in a tangible way. my family and i will pray you're situation will change for the better.

  • Can't this poor fellow get a labor job somewhere in Canada? I thought Canada had a more labor friendly environment.

  • @ezygong America has been falling apart for decades; each decade has distinguishable failures of the system as a whole. There will be no fixing it because the Power Elites were doing a controlled equity stripping and implementing police state measures to control the reaction.

America is completely gutted and Obama is finishing the job handed to him by Bush and Cheney. Only brainwashed Plastic Patriots still pray to the Old Idols as commanded by the political priests of TBN and Fox News.
