Some dude on Aussiepythons com said this and had the links to this video - "Have some adults i have had since 2 weeks old and they were nasty then. Much nastier now though, they easily remove chunks of flesh from fingers"
wtf? I was just on penguin island today and playing round with adult wild king skinks that bit me a few times and barely even hurt let alone removed chunks. I also had a few crawling over my hands and arms and they were coming up to me more curious then anything

I'm dizzy after watching that...that woman sure needs a lesson in handling a camera.....and why were they laughing?...

As a reptile lover I can understand the fascination people have for these magnificent animals and I certainly didn't mean to be preaching its just that I have seen first hand how some cornered dugites can react. It was also good to see the so called myth that skinks keep snakes away! Who would have thought it was true.
I would disagree that dugites are unwilling to attack, if anything quite the opposite. I live on the coast just a bit south from roto (where this footage was filmed) and have had two dugite attacks since the start of summer.

I am going to have to agree and disagree at the same time. Dugites would much rather flee then have to attack. This is my opinion, a dugite will only attack if threatened, and if threatened a new side will be shown, a side where they are fierce, fast and maybe even scary. So i'm going to have to disagree with you on this one but, that is just my opinion.

Great footage, however it is this type of activity that accounts for the majority of snakebites in this country. The footage shows how timid and unwilling to attack most dugites are however, as a qualified snake relocator I find it distrubing to see so many bare skinned children's legs around an obviously agitated dugite.
