$500 Million Hail Storm, Oklahoma City, 5/16/2010

Amazing, giant (and loud!) hail that totaled one car, caused over $8600 damage to another one, totaled every roof in our neighborhood and many others, and broke holes in our house's windows, siding, and chimney. By far the biggest hail we have ever seen. Insurance losses from this storm were half a billion dollars. (It's never good when you have to call your insurance company's "catastrophe" line.)

We didn't see any dead birds, so I guess it was a leaf. We felt very sorry for all the birds and squirrels and other animals that were out in the middle of it, though.

It was an amazing and awe-inspiring display of nature, but it sure cost us a lot of money and time and energy. I have ulcers from the vast amount of red tape we have had to deal with.

Maybe you can have it there while you are out in a shelter in the forest, far far away from all your material possessions. :-)

Wow...I live in Oklahoma and have seen a lot of storms with hail but have not seen this large before. Have you seen Dutchsinse Channel on YT...he predicts severe weather better than any weatherman I have ever seen. Have you heard of weather modification? I thought it was a joke, but have found it to be very true and dangerous because they spray chemicals in our atmosphere we breath in our lungs. I have seen them spraying in Tulsa almost on a daily basis this last year.

Crazy stuff.Thanks for posting.we have it pretty easy in Calif.Just have a damaging earthquake in some areas about every 10 years and Liberal politicians that take your money and your freedom and give it to another.
