  • I think ima just get some PRC 215's or TF 215's and sell these pieces of crap heads of put them on my 5.3 silverado.... But man i just cant seem to figure out why im comming up short on RWHP, i have the G5x3, Fast intake, Headers, Vararam, and i stil have the stock MAF... Any advice besides the Heads they have bigger valves and they are milled just a tad bit i could have went more but i didnt want to run across piston slap..... Thanks

  • @zo6kid21

Im extremely happy with the TF 215's.

The 853 heads aren't necessarily "pieces of crap", once ported and re-valved they can put down some decent numbers. But even so... they are a factory casting head, and there are better options out there now.

You have a lot of good parts, so dont get too discouraged. Dyno numbers aren't the end-all be-all anyway... its all about how well the car runs.

Get some TF215's and see where it puts you.

  • man 501 RWHP? Heads Cam Intake Full Exhaust? The Cam IS That The LS3? I wanna know because i want that set up i only put down 450 with heads cam intake and full exhaust...

  • @zo6kid21

    Its a comp custom grind... 236/240 .601/.608 112LSA.

Not all head/cam setups are created equal... its all about the details. My last H/C car barely broke 400rwhp.

  • @zo6kid21

I just checked out your setup.

Id say the biggest place you are missing power is your heads. The stock casting 853's do good, but you'd get some solid gains by going to something like a TF 215 or AFR 225. Im also assuming your 853's are stock size chambers... so you could gain a bit by milling them and upping the compression. Im sitting around 11.5:1
