I placed in this video, a couple of reversing moves. They are not necessarily the easiest ways to voice the phrases. So LOOK for alternatives..always. I did this on purpose. It is meant to challenge you with regards to chord formation and alterations. When you find an EASIER way to do it, you have added both to your knowledge base. when you then tie these two similar phrasings in your single-note soloing...you'll understand WHY i did this...I was feeling tricky!...LOL...Post, reply, send me mail...peace!...Mickey

  • thanks for all the help! and just in time for christmas!

  • wow! thanks for your reply, Mickey.

I'll get on it. I do love the tone, and it's a really nice piece of equipment, too. I'd hate to get rid of it, but I thought it's time had come!

    best,

    steve

  • Steve...if you like the tone that your pedal gives you...replace the pot. All pot pedals will eventually fail internally. If you can afford a Keith Hilton pedal...this will eliminate the need to continually maintain your pot pedal. They cost about 300.00...thanks for posting, and tuning in Steve...write me anytime...Mickey

  • Hi Mickey,

Your lessons are invaluable! A quick question if you don't mind...

I am a novice steeler using an OLD ShoBud volume pedal. It crackles full volume. Should I replace the pot or get a newer model? What volume pedal do you suggest for a novice steeler?

thanks so much for all you do for the pedal steel scene!
