@hayseninusername No, its a malfunction in a 500KV switch. The voltage was high enough to basically leap the gap.

@Chinook249 well its actually an isolator, the circuit breaker is supposed to be switched open, oil filled circuit breakers, then them contacts are opened like in the video to isolate the line. So if the circuit breaker was operated the line would still be isolated. Looks like thecircuit breaker was not properly opened maybe because faulty. It looks like the other 2 phases were disconnected ok, as only one disconnect arc`d.
