It was a pleasure working with you all. I usually have so little time to teach, as I did this time around, that I can't express anything other than getting down to brass tacks and hammering out the lessons. But believe me, I wanted to clown around just like everybody else. However, there's a time and place for monkey-play and this show definitely didn't lend itself to either.
Well, of the many things you've pick up during this process, I hope you've all taken one thing from this experience in acting/stage-combat: that there is no choice between putting in the disciplined work at rehearsals and wasting time goofing off. The well deserved payoff of a cheering crowd at the end of a performance will always outweigh the temporary joys of being the class clown during rehearsals. Students are pouring out of high schools without that respect. And going into a community theatre, regional theatre, or professional theatre with bad habits will not win an actor a callback; not even in the ensemble. Okay...I'll hop off my soap-box now.
