  • I haven't heard this kind of gospel singing, since the little storefront "holyroller" church I attended as a kid. Thank you for posting, it touches my heart.

  • Clarence could sing circles around most of these clowns today. Love his hnd movements at 0:41 and 0:42 of the recording. This is singing. Can't be taught to do the sweet phrasings and subtle caresses. Love the brother's energy i nt he back too, the husky singer- full of energy. Love the way Clarence is keeping what appears to be thirty-two time withhis hands wiggling- awesome...

  • I've watched this clip a dozen times over the past 2 days & somehow, it gets better with each & every viewing. Immeasurable thanks to you, AGQC.

  • There is a video collection called, "Soul of the Church". Its a (2) disc set from a tv show based in Chicago from 1962-1965. the show, called, "TV Gospel Time" featured some of the greats in Gospel music during that time, and was hosted by people like Rev. James Cleavland. Google in the title of the show, and you will see where to order. Also featured are the Highway QC's, out of which came Sam Cooke and Johnny Taylor, who were both singing secular music at this particular time.
