Found these 3 Philips fluorescent lamps in the bin today at work.
Put them in series and cover the glass up and see how the end filaments glow and burn out.

I made a wiring error with the HV ammeter, sorry. That current would have been at the 3 to 4 Amps mark, connected the return wire to grid earth instead of MOT earth, hence no reading.

These are High Voltage experiments and utmost care should be taken while carrying this work out. Electricity is dangerous under these test conditions and the power supply always has to be disconnected when changing the wiring configuration.
