I'm not American, I'm Scottish, but all I can say is these 'Southerners' as My64Firebird put it, did a brilliant job. I own the 'Robert Johnson: King of the Delta Blues Singers' collection of songs and regarding this performance, I think The Allman Brothers Band did extremely well. Its different from the original, but its every bit as pure.

I have always loved this song. i love the original version by johnson but man this version by the allman brothers is very soul gripping. what a powerful song. i also like the version by delaney and bonnie with duane allman playing his amazing slide guitar. thank god for the blues and the allman brothers band

Fantastic cd, all the members are super talented. I too am really happy to hear about greg having a sucessful surgery. I must say, that if you have lots of money, a transplant is almost always available, but if you don't have money and need a transplant, its' all about a waiting list, which for a working class guy means death.Its' urgently important to donate any life saving organs.
