Thanks a lot for the tip. Its great advice and I've been trying to work on it recently by listening to a lot of jazz. I'm currently expanding my library, after all how can you play a sax if you never heard someone else play it!

It's really about developing fundamentals and hearing the "sound" in your head first-be very specific about what you're going after eg. coltrane or dexter or henderson; bird or cannonball or stitt. Your ear will affect how you focus on the important fundamentals of tone development.

Let me know what you think.

    Best,

    Joey Berkley

  • Good lesson. I hear this stuff all the time but I can never seem to grasp it and my tone suffers!

  • Pretty good
