  • I think its sad that most artists today don't actually use instruments but just a computer....

We have more sound engineers than artists and composers..... Where is the talent in that?!

I wish there was more like this!

  • @dougleyendecker Yes that is true, I have given a bit of thought to this and I think I was being a bit harsh....

But I do still think that we need more physical instrumental music out there

  • @RoseLoriel It is pure Karl Jenkins, and although parts of it might sound a little like parts of various pieces by Vivaldi, it is distinctly different overall. This piece was used in a De Beers Diamond commercial at one time, so it might seem familiar for that reason.

  • glorious

  • Wonderful!

Greeting from the United Republik of Trance-Psychedelia & Idylia

  • @MrBassRabbit Hmm, I guess that's true, depending on what you like though. I admit my argument may be a bit bias as I am not a fan of most modern music styles.

  • @jbdyoni Well, it's pop music. Low talent and cheap music are to be expected. If people use it well, then electronic stuff can be amazing.

  • if you cant play an instrument you are not a musician simple as

  • @MrBassRabbit Yes that's true, but it seems that so many are using computers (and so on) that many artists and songs sound very similar, I think its being over used...

  • @jbdyoni Well, I agree that making a loop repeat over and over can be boring (except for Daft Punk, they do it and it's always awesome.), and I do believe modern day pop "artists" should go back to playing instruments. All I'm saying is that making a song electronically takes just as much skill as any other instrument.

  • @MrBassRabbit Nothing at all!! I have nothing against it, I just think it is being overused with modern artists these days, and I am not talking about mixing tracks together and all, but using the computer to make the sounds and then just looping/building on that....

It takes several years to learn to use such software (and get a degree or whatever) but it can take decades to master an instrument, it just seems sometimes that artist take shortcuts to produce more quickly...
