  • @LS8492 It's a shame her 2000 campaign fell through the way it did. She certainly is qualified.

  • I think Dole is a remarkable woman and she could well be US president.

  • Nope. That would give the president even more power than he already has, and thus would be very dangerous. Vetos are almost always used by presidents not to cut spending, but to use as a billy-club against Congress in order to acquire more power.

    If we want to curb spending, then a Balanced Budget Amendment is the way to go.
