I like the screen it a good GMtool

I havn't used a DMs screen in about 10 years. I roll infront of the players, so they know their wins are real & their losses are real. It keeps more fear in the game.

yeah when i am doing attack rolls
i roll out of the screen
but if say a NPC is trying an ecscape artist check cause the PCs tyed him up i do that behind the screen
and recently i wasnt using a screen my PCs were in a dungeon and i was explaining the size and placement of a room(it was dificult) and one of them said "here just let me see the map" and i dont wnt that map in plane sight of them now

i am a dm i just started a couple of months ago i dont use the screen beacause i dont have one
i am gona start because i want to make the rolls more secret from the pcs
