Giuseppe Giacomini singing "O suave fanciulla" with Caballe in La Boheme at Macerata in 1982. Sorry for the dark video. This might as well be an audio track.

  • Les adieux de Caballé à Mimi...

  • tis a b, still sounds fantastic.

  • people.. before you comment on videos here, make sure you have a good point.. unlike this wop9999 whose ears have lots of earwax, he cant hear the difference of a Hi C and a Hi B.. play it on your piano and you will hear aa Hi B! if You hear a Hi C, then what a pity! stupido wop9999!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and who are you calling a fool?? Giacomini?? look at yourself! he sang Vesti la giubba last august 2009! his age is somewhat 70, and still, he nailed it better than a 30 year old tenor, bobo!!!

  • @wop9999 at the middle of the song it is transposed semitone lower.. do you have ears?? originaly its C but it is lowered?? shut ur freaking mouth? whats the use of the score if you have bullshit ears that cant hear! i have a whole book of la boheme. try playing the last note on the piano! if you hear a C then have your ears checked. boo!!! Ihr ein krankes taub!

  • look at your score (I own 4 scores)

    C for soprano

    E for tenor

B would be out of tune

  • @wop9999 maybe you dont know him at all.. so dont call him fool,, ^^ look for his other videos, he is a higly respected tenor. believe me.. and for your listening ears, its not a high C ** its only a high B.. listen before you comment.. hahahahaha!!!

  • The transposition sounds very strange.

They mess it up only to have the highC away...And this high B...no need to sing it like this.

  • They transposed it down in the middle, so its a high B. Anyways, whats a tenot? Giacomini was one of the greats. I like Jan Peerce too.

  • Another fool tenot who thinks he knows more than Puccini and must scream a high C and ruin a beautiful moment

Listen to Toscanini, with Jan Pierce (who directed the premiere), and hear some real music

  • Some really good singing - but Giacomini and Caballe pull the tempo like taffy! Listen to Toscanini with Peerce and Albanese for what can be done by artists who truly respect what Puccini wrote. Nonetheless, thanks for sharing this performance!!
