  • So, I notice you've made two modifications to this yoyo. Which part is more important to make it unresponsive? My other yoyos don't have the "foam" brake pads, if I wanted to try to make one of mine unresponsive should I just soak the bearing in the paint thinner, or should I try to sand off the plastic grooves that act as the brake pads and replace them with your silicone ones?

PS. I love your videos, you're awesome.

  • @7beejay7 Every yoyo is different, and some yoyos cannot be made to play well unresponsive. That being said, for any yoyo the most important part is to clean the bearing. For many yoyos this is all it takes. Other than that I cannot tell you what else should be done to your yoyo unless I know what yoyo it is. It is very difficult to get a yoyo with starbursts to play unresponsive. You may be better off just getting a Luminator unresponsive kit, or a yoyo that comes unresponsive.

  • @yotricks Do you recommend the Luminator or the Yomega Dash?

  • @frozenstringS1 It is difficult to compare them as the Yomega Dash is a $30 yoyo and the Luminator is a $6 yoyo. That being said, if you want an unresponsive yoyo it is difficult to get the Dash to play unresponsive, and we sell a kit on YoTricks to turn the Luminator into a great unresponsive yoyo - especially great if you are just getting into unresponsive tricks. If you are not yet into unresponsive yoyoing the dash is a pretty good responsive yoyo and it does sleep a long time.

  • @yotricks And how long does it sleep if silicon was applied?

  • @frozenstringS1 The Luminator, out of the box, should sleep 30-45 if you have a decent throw. If you mod it into an Unresponsive Luminator using the Unresponsive kit (with the silicone pads) those sleep times can triple, as we supply you with a much better bearing in the kit (and clean bearings always sleep longer than lubed bearings anyway.)

  • @yotricks Thanks! That is very helpful. The yoyo I had in mind is weighted with the butterfly shape, I think it was called "Hi-Hu" or something like that. May have been by Yomega. I can't find it, oh well, I'll just buy yours. =P

  • @yotricks Though i prefer a responsive yo yo . I think imma buy a Advance Kit =D

  • @yotricks What's the average sleep time for a Luminator? Thanks for replying so quickly.

  • @TheCam432 A little glue is not the end of the world, but if there are large chunks then you ay want to try a small screwdriver (bee careful) to scrape it clean. If you mark the yoyo up it will not make a difference in how it plays.
