"I think the weather's a bit mixed up to say the least. It's like taking a calendar, throwing it up in the air and all the pages get mixed up and it ends up saying February instead of, perhaps, April. And there is a risk of some snow, yes, and you say, 'come on, Dan, here's the other leg, pull that one'."

"The cold air will continue to seep its way southwards just like a layer of treacle, working its way across a plate of a dessert for the course of a Sunday lunch."

Broadcast on BBC News 24, 5/4/08

  • His forecasts are always never ending torrent of similies, random comments, and picnic baskets.

    But we love it!

    That's the weather, for now!

  • One day, the BBC weathermen and weatherwomen met together and said, 'who can drop the most metaphors into their forecasts', and poor old Dan Corbett, he picked the short straw. And even to this year, our Dan keeps on with the picnic baskets and the treacle. I love this man.
