This is the story of how a girl from Peru suffered terrible tragedy, was ignored by her doctors, abandoned by her government and left in a wheelchair. It's also a story of how this girl managed to change the world.
It was unclear what they found discriminatory about the laws. The classic argument is that having abortion illegal discriminates against women, but this isn't the case since there is no legimate male equivalent. If there was, and it was legal while abortion wasn't, then it is discrimation. I don't find it reasonable to call it discrimination against women when it is impossible to legalize male abortion (they cannot have one).
