@SilverDrgnbane Incorrect. According to camerman Charles Van Enger, Chaney did use a hook and wire contraption. Also, the wire is clearly visible in one of the close-up photos. It extends from the tip of the nose to the bald cap. Neither tape, nor spirit gum would have held.

@insane berry Chaney didn't use egg membranes in his eyes for Phantom, or any other film, dumbass. He DID use a glass eye shield that was made just for him by an optometrist friend, in the film,"Road to Mandalay".
You must have read that in a 40 yr. old Famous Monsters Magazine.

read this.once u started there is no turni back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murdured in 1945. her body was not found untill 1947.then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him. if ou do not copy and paste this onto 10 videos in 30 minutes the dead girl will appear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you. well you better start to copy and paste if you want to be safe

@jpotokar True dat. I did extensive research on Chaney, and he worked with wires in his nose, elephant teeth, and disks in his cheeks. Basically he took his normal face and just warped it with wires. He really suffered for his art, though. And no one will ever duplicate his makeup, cause he never told anyone exactly what he did to get the effects that were required.

so you should post a pic without all the diffusion and photo effects. This would give a better indicator of your makeup job. Chaney relied on light and shadow, not a bunch of diffused photgraphic effects that didnt even exist back then.

who is in that illustration then? you commented on your use of flour, etc, for your makeup. so, a clear pic would be helpful, regardless of it being a "self potrait" or not, know what I mean?

All of the makeup materials used are still available today. Its just that no one has the artistry (or same facial structure) to create what Chaney did, back then. In addition, he didnt use any makeup material in PHANTOM that were considered unsafe. Where did you get that info?

i looked. its hard to make out your pic, with the severe soft focus, and tampering that has been done with some photo effects. In the pic you posted, your eyes look like raccoon eyes. Show just the photo, as taken.
Videos on YouTube are nearly identical to the DVD. The DVD features makeup on all seven characters - we only have five of them on YouTube. DVD price is $10.99 if you put LON CHANEY TRIBUTE into Amazon.

The music used was an original composition created by William Kania, my composer.

Amazing make up job on Conrad Veidt in "The Man Who Laughs" 1920's, which was based on documented facts.

Right, we needed to recreate the makeup with a sculpted mask or we couldn't have made it look like Chaney's face.
