WASHINGTON- District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty, Sen. Joseph Lieberman, Secretary Janet Napolitano, Department of Homeland Security, Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton, Sharon Banks, acting regional administrator of the General Services Administration and Paul Prouty, acting administrator of the GSA break ground with L&M construction workers at the site of the future Department of Homeland Security Consolidated Headquarters during a ceremony at the Saint Elizabeths Campus, Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009. The project, which is funded in part by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, will consolidate the various branches of the Department of Homeland Security, including the Coast Guard, in one location, and represents the largest building project in GSA history.
