4/14/11: Did you know that Vermont is among the top 10 hungriest states in the nation? And that 1 in 7 Vermont households don't have enough to eat?
The Vermont Foodbank plans to distribute 8 millions pounds of food to 280 agencies who will feed 86,000 Vermonters this year. Eva visited their distribution center in Barre to meet some Barre Tech Center culinary arts students who were preparing meals in the Foodbank's production kitchen. Eva also stopped by Project Independence, an adult day health services center, to share a nutritious lunch that was prepared with food provided by the Vermont Foodbank.
The Vermont Foodbank is the beneficiary of the upcoming Vermont Restaurant Week (April 29-May 5) and you can donate $10 by texting "FOODNOW" to "52000" (the contribution will show up on your phone bill) or contribute the money you save on your eating adventures to the virtual food drive on our website.

These people are angels. We give to our local soup kitchen (my pet charity is Pure Water for the World).19 years ago I was homeless with two little boys. I don't know what we would have done without wonderful people like these folks.
