On May eleventh, Lincoln voters will decide whether or not to allow the city to issue 25 million dollars in bonds to help pay for the proposed Lincoln Haymarket Arena project.
The vote will also decide whether the city can accept state assistance for the project from the turnback tax, through which the state would return 70 percent of the sales tax revenues collected from the arena and nearby hotels.
But what is included in the overall plan?
The focal point of the proposal is a 16,000-seat arena to be built west of the main post office.
The facility will replace Pershing Auditorium. It will be the new home for Husker basketball and will also host a wide variety of entertainment options, including concerts, sporting events, family shows, ice programs, and community activities.
