Sick of Living At Home? Build A Small House

Someone said 'looks like a doghouse' ....I'd rather live in a doghouse and be debt free and have the freedom to live my life and be with my family than wake up one day when I'm 70 and realize I missed my life and my children's lives paying for excess I was to busy to enjoy.

You can't live in a home that small. It is illegal to live in a shed. You need permits, inspections, home owner's associations, an electric meter, city water, etc... to be legal. Anything else, and they WILL evict you! I am not saying you can't say you live with your parents... and they just happen to have a shed. ;-)

@dragasoni maybe the city codes need to changed. New generation, new regulations, or no regulation. i'm tired of government telling me what I cannot build we own the land. I understand commercial zoning laws is needed, but home owners or land, government should stay out! Governments getting too big for no good.  Cant even build an outhouse anymore in some areas. WTF?

I'm 36 and back home with my parents. I decided to build a cabin in our land. My parents own some land. Having a cabin allows me to keep my distance from my parents so we do not step on each others feelings. Parents just do not understand the children and its too easy to argue over stupid things when living under the same roof. We love them, but we cant change them.

@superchampable Having that house allows him the freedom to get away from his parents. Presumably if his parents allow him to live there they are getting on to an extent so he can probably spend time in either.
