Then what's the difference between saying "Liverpool suck" and "Liverpool sucks" because either way a verb is implied at the end of each statement.

I agree that I was incorrect at the beginning but only because of the context, like I said I didn't know that mika was an individual, I know that it would be incorrect to say "Henry Sherman suck" if the context was towards an individual or a single entity.
But applied to groups, there's no difference.
