This is the lovely Brazilian guy we met on the train in Sydney, on our way to Barangaroo for the opening mass of World Youth Day 2008.

Does anyone speak Portuguese who could tell me what he's singing about? He didn't speak much English so i couldn't exactly ask him.

  • kkkkkkkkkk... O carinha táh fazendo sucesso com a mulherada, dando uma de cantor, e vamos combinar música brasileira faz arepiar! XD

  • Thank you for your comment, I don't speak portuguese, but I think you said something about the guy singing. His name is Arepiar??

If so, thank you. It's nice to finally know his name lol :)

  • hahahah, no he wasnt saying about the guy, he was talking that the guy made "sucess" with the girls, but about the guy he was singing Trem das Onze- Adoniran Barbosa... you can find this song here in youtube, is really famous in brazil, this guy is cute, but unhappily i dont know anything about him!sorry, and his name is not Arrepiar, Arrepias is a verb in portuguese and means to make bristle in english i think! hope i'd help ya! xoxo

  • haha =), thank you, that was very helpful.

  • Trem das onze (The 11PM train). Composition by Adoniram Barbosa, released in 1964 by the samba group Demônios da Garoa. (Jaçanã is a distant suburb of São Paulo). "I can't stay Not even another minute with you I'm sorry, babe But I have to go I live in Jaçanã If I don't get this train That leaves now at 11 PM Only tomorrow morning And besides that, woman There are other things My mother can't sleep Until I get home I'm an only child I have my house to look after"
  • Thank you.

  • Great memories from WYD08, I really wish I was going to Madrid next year... :(

  • no, his name is not. Arepiar is only one word in Portuguese.

  • Thank you very much -- don't worry, your english was fine :)

  • Hi, i saw that the other comment only translate the part he sings in the video. If you are interesting the song is "Trem das 11(onze)" and the band is "Demônios da Garoa".

(sorry about the english, i'm not good at this)

    Bye Bye
