  • Yeah, but Marcelo owns everybody.

  • AOKI SAN is underrated... many fighters sleep on his BJJ skills...

  • Shinya Aoki's Judo was a Kosen style... so... he was never a nagewaza user from the first place.

  • look how a olympinc level judoka lose versus Aoki

    Aoki is just amasing fighter

  • sugoi!!!!

  • @esauofrensfal Marcelo only trains in grappling. Aoki is a MMA fighter and has the most effective grappling in MMA. In a pure grappling competition Marcelo wins but in a MMA fight Aoki has it easy

  • @dirosaga i have deep respect for the japanese theyre some of my favorite fighters

  • @l3054 Fair comment. But the reason it belongs to everyone and anyone is because Japanese were willing to teach foreigners (something not widely accepted among the Japanese for a long time). Remember that.

  • @DrVoltage1 ya i wouldn't say never taught to take it to the ground, but i would say are taught to try to avoid the ground if possible. After all, Bjj coming from Judo, Judo coming from Jujutsu, the techniques did exist. Also it depends on era, i'm sure. More ancient forms of jujutsu are battlefield and include armour (little or no atemi), but techniques changed to adapt to Bushi walking the street in non battle attire as time passed on.

  • @dirosaga Japanese JiuJitusu was originated with weapons and war/killing in mind. They are generally taught never to take it to the ground because with multiple opponents that meant death to a soldier. I'm not saying it couldn't have evolved, just some food for thought :)

Also JJJ has some of the sweetest striking to throw combos I've had the pleasure to see

  • @dirosaga japanese invented it and most dont remember but people also forget that it doesnt belong to anyone so anyone can win

  • Finally the people who created the arts win for once. My rational is when people think of ufc mma or jujutsu championships today the think of brazilians and ruch rather then japanese. I don't know why. either the japanese don't win as much, or they do and i just don't hear it.
