Beck performing "Burnt Orange Peel" from his 1993/94 K Records album "One Foot In The Grave."

Lyrics-

Long ago, things to be
I got a garden hose and a colour tv
I got time on my hands
I got time on my hands
Nobody cares what I do!

Long ago, things to do
I got a burnt orange peel and a potato stew
I got work to get done
Got work to get done
Nobody knows where to run!

You got a carton of milk
Got some sound advice
Got some trees that are fake
But they smell so nice
Don't give me the flu!
Nobody knows what we do!

Back and forth, I dodge a fly
Like a feather in the sky
Write me out a check
Give me all your cash
Nobody knows!
So let's just go home!

  • @TVindustries5000 Hey!...actually, you might have something there...

  • I love the genres they put Beck into: Anti-folk, lo-fi, alternative rock, alternative country. Anti-folk has one person in it. Beck. And lo-fi? lol

  • beck is the impressionist i have ever come across. flawless copies of originals but yet better.

  • @futurfry That's the thing, yep.

  • @skuppy Oh. well he's not christian, so there's that.

  • @futurfry No, he covers old spirituals.

  • @skuppy theres no christian stuff lol.

    he just mentions god

  • haha i can see where the sound for the scott pilgrim vs the world soundtrack came from.

  • this album rocks...even the christian shit. somehow.
