16 years ago my dad lost his battle with lung cancer. He was born in Salem, Missouri and grew up in a coal mining town, Mt. Harris, near Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Dad loved the Colorado mountains. Dad proudly served our country during the Korean War. He was a US Navy frogman, UDT1. As I grew up, our family vacations were always spent camping in the Colorado mountains. Dad's last wish was to have his body returned to the mountain soil where he grew up. The pictures in this video were taken by my sister Diana and her husband, Kelly, this month. Annually they take the hike up near the summit of Rabbit Ears Pass where we took dad on his final trip to the mountains in 1991. It is a very beautiful place that has not changed in the past 16 years. This video that I made is a tribute to dad and all that he meant to our family.
