This is part two of a two part video. Part one can be found here: http://youtu.be/Uy8z6n2OgEk

Like to find some gold? I sure do and so does my son Andy, grandson Cameron and my son in-law Nate. We went out last March up to the mountains and did a little stream sluicing to try our luck. This is a place Andy and I have been to a couple of time now, and we have always been lucky to find some color. This time was no different.

Having just bought our first "gold wheel", we took it along to separate our concentrates right at the stream. Worked very well and was fun to do without having to wait to come home and do it. Normally, we would classify the concentrates down and then use a "blue bowl" to get the gold out. This works fine, but it is extremely slow. This new device works just as well and is about a million times faster. Great investment for anyone having problems with patience.

Anyway, hope you folks like the show. I only took a few minutes out to shoot footage, so it's a bit skimpy in places, but I hope my cuts make it at least playable, even if not real enjoyable to watch. But I like it, so you may like it too.

Have fun and hope to see you on the streams some time.

  • I have found the Black Magic Fine Gold Recovery System (Miller Table) works better than these screw devices

  • @lofreco Not sure what better means, but I am sure that this 25" spiral gold wheel is capable of running alot of concentrate in a short amount of time -- Without losing any gold. We've run a third of a 5 gal pail in a half-hour and 2nd run only taking about 5 minutes or so. Another 5 minutes of panning out the residual black sands and no lost gold.

  • Correct me if im wrong but arent these machines meant to seperate the gold from the dirt? including black sand!

  • @djclarky1982 It can for sure, but we are pretty shy about perhaps loosing even the smallest flower gold. The video here lost 0% visible gold as we panned the washout to double check. We have used this gold wheel about 6 times so far, each time we adjust it a bit more vertical on the 2nd run and then pan the washout to double-check our settings. It is really no problem to pan that little beaker of gold/black sands, about 5 minutes tops.

  • How does that work at an angle?

  • @silverpeddler85 It turns like a screw and the heaviest concentrates stay lowest in the threads. First run you adjust the angle so as to wash most of the materials away, while keeping the heaviest. Second run you tilt the angle more vertical to eliminate just about everything except gold and some black sands that tend to be more rounded. This leaves very little work to pan the remaining gold out of the black sands.
