According to the mithology of this movie, Sanders was very disappointend becouse there was not really a script, the script was some peace of paper handed from Rossellini, sometime the last moment before the shooting, another way of work, which inspired even the franch Nouvelle Vague: The secret of this movie is in the last scene

rossilini might have been the most casual throwaway director of them all, don't movie the camera, telling himself, just let it go, fire away George, but don't forget this is no retake, just walk how you normally would, same to you Ingrid, just start babbling and try to remember the few words you have to, and you know, we might just have a scene here...if not we can always make something else up.

DUH! The actress is Ingrid Bergman. The director is not Ingmar Bergman, yes, it's Rosselini.

I enjoy watching Ingrid in just about everything. This scene with George Sanders is wonderful. He also was a great actor.
