Overall, I'm very pleased with him. I had worked the cans for about 5 min prior to shooting the video. He was at first uncomfortable and distracted with being leashed, and didn't understand why I was pointing at the cans. Being a clicker trained dog, I felt he would understand better if I gave him his space and let him work it out on his own. His first few attempts were casting around the yard, as we've worked in the past, but he seemed to catch on quickly and started limiting his range to the area of the cans. By the end of the clip, you can see him working almost exclusively the cans. Once he's consistently working the cans, I'll add me and the leash to the picture. Once we're working a real scent, instead of just his ball, I'll be adding a 'sit' passive indication. I'm very happy with him, seeing as he never stopped actively searching for the find.
