I'm watching this as I find myself, despite my best efforts at maintaining an amicable relationship, in precisely the position discussed: impending divorce, contact with my beloved daughter suddenly denied for several months, and I'm ruined inside. And I've done nothing except try my best to be a good dad while being unable to be a husband any more.

It's a living hell to have your children kept away from you. It's WORSE than having one murdered because there is NEVER any closure. 1) Screwing fathers over makes a lot of money for the CSA and the judiciary.

2) Your rights as dad come from contract law, mum's rights come from common law; you're only the the dad because mum agrees that you are. She affirms your rights when she signs the birth certificate, but when you sign it, you yield your rights to the state; Catch-22.

3) The issue is being blocked by the feminist movement, which sees any assertion of mens' rights as an abrogation of their own.

Easier said than done, Sir Bob; the immediate aftermath of losing their children puts a father in shock, then there's the mad scramble to get to court and get just the minimum of contact, then the long, depressive process of rebuilding your life... it's hard to stir any father out of his own grief long enough to get any concerted action underway to change this. "We the people..." are in too much of a state to make our voices heard.

Is there any hope? I was naive enough to think family court was going to respect my rights as a father the first time I went....what a joke! This is a huge problem that must be dealt with. I am at the mercy of my son's mother at all times. Why??
