Israel faces its worst water crisis in 80 years.

Israel is facing the worst water crisis in 80 years. Its major sources of drinking water, including the Sea of Galilee and the mountain aquifer are below their red lines.

To add more to the woe of people, another large water source, the costal aquifer, has fallen below its black line which simply means that if additional water will be drawn, it could suffer serious damage. Also, the mountain aquifer and Sea of Galilee are likely to reach their black line by December this year.

With the long-range weather forecast predictions telling grim story for next year, situation is even going to be worse as it's not possible to pump water from the sea at that point since the pipes are unable to reach the water.

Water Authority has started pumping water from tributaries that empty into the Sea of Galilee. However, this can be done only until 2010, but what after that is what water authorities are not finding an answer for.

israel is only 60 years old !how about saying palestine ?

israel usurped(stole) land from Palestine about 60 years ago. Since then they've continually stolen land, more publically in the case of the 50 members of the same family from East Jerusalem. israel is not even 65 yearsold. Palestine on the other hand is more than 80 years old.. Google this: "league of nations mandate for palestine - 1920" go to the website that has mfa . gov . il that's an israeli government website.
