@Hot4wordsfan there is a difference. Fouette- leg pulls back into passe on rotation and goes out to second position at front. A la seconde turns -leg remains in second position throughout rotations.

@JeazDancer is there a difference between a la seconde and fouette turns? i thought they were the same. i could be wrong..

wow! does your hair not whip you in the face? cause everytime i try fouettes without a bun my hair whips me in the eye.

heycourtneyhey, i learned fouettes first. but now that i have learned a la seconde turns they seem easier, i recommend you do fouttes before you try a la second turns. unless your dance teacher tells you other wise but i doubt that. and my advice is to learn how to balance yourself really well! go to a barre and practice being in pose and then go into pose releve.
