@Reegatron Not really, the torch ceremony is still performed by the Bundeswehr. It was a tradition before the Nazis came and its still one to this day. You just associate it with footage from Kristalnacht, etc.

"La mejor tropa de elité del mundo" que nunca existiera..

If you really "love to be as authentic as possible" then reenactments should not be restricted to combat operations. 2nd SS were involved in countless village massacres in the east, and of course there's Oradour. Reegatron
Actually the Regiment Deutschland was never accused of, tried or convicted of any war crimes nor were any of it's officers.
Oradour was not done by Deutschland Rgt, that was Der Fuhrer Regiment. You must be more accurate with your assumptions and accusations.

@Reegatron The toast is to our Kompanie.Regiment and Division, typical of any toast by any army in any war. The torch ceremonies have been performed in Germany for centuries and are even allowed today in the modern German Army and have/had nothing to do with the SS.
The flag is the one they used & to them did not represent all of the horrors people think of today with some of the SS & German troops of WW2(and of course the many attrocities commited by the USA,Japan,Russia etc etc.) War is Hell

Good video. But saw one guy with winter boots on.... and there is no snow on the ground....
-
Looks spot on to me. It's all about living history and how it really was.

I do notice that the MG42s DO NOT like blanks

BY FAR THE BEST REINACTMENT IVE SEEN WAYYYY BETTER THAN WW2 IN COLOR ON THE MILITARY CHANNEL!!! YOU GUYS ROCK THANK YOU FOR KEEPING HISTORIES BATTLES ALIVE NO MATTER WHAT.!!!
Hey I dont mean to be a party-pooper, cos living history is all well and good....but for a supposedly non-political reenactment group, the group toast to Nazi Germany at the end of the video, complete with giant SS banner, is surely a bit excessive? Not to mention the ceremony with the iconic Nazi ceremonial torches, signifying the strength and purity of the Aryan race. I presume both these events are private functions?
No offence but you can see how one might be inclined to be suspicious...?

@Reegatron --- The toast was not to Nazi Germany, it was to our Deutschland Regiment club. It was to our reenactment club and the guys that show up and kick the ass every weekend. The SS banner is historicly accurate, if you want to relive history, you dont half ass it, and we love to be as authentic as possible. The torch ceremony was not a reenactment of the traditional SS ceremony. It was an awards and promotions ceremony, and the torches were because we do not use flashlights, nor did they.
