This is an open source project to develop a game engine mainly for real-time strategy games. Game engine's structure was originally based on Total Annihilation(TA) video game developed by Cavedog and first games were compatible with TA, but is not made on it's engine. Common misconception is that Spring and its games are mods to TA.

Note: "Not Original Total Annihilation" or NOTA is a game's name!
Q: "What did you use for recording?"
A: Spring has a built in video recording system with which you can have frames recorded and converted to a codec that your PC has while recording. That is why it ends up so smoothly as no frame is skipped.
Problem is you record 2x to 10x longer than you would with third party screen recorder(depending on PC) and you cannot record sound with this method. Also you shouldn't try using it while playing a multiplayer game. Though I haven't tried it even with a low compression codec.
AFAIK the keys to activate video recording ingame are still - Ctrl+Shift+F10 or Ctrl+Alt+F10
Q:"How can you smooth move?"
A:"Ctrl+F5 for freecamera"
