Madrid is one of those cities that doesn't really capture all too well on camera, but it is beautiful to see & experience in person. It does get quite a bit of flack for not being one of the "cultural" capitals in Spain; however, there is something to be said about the cosmopolitan vibe combined with a bit of the Spanish flair that makes it very special.

well, anyway Madrid is not considerated one of the most beautiful cities of spain by spaniards, so is a bad example of beautifulness of a spanish city. And Madrid is relativety new (only 500 years...) and was knowed as "Sewer City" by the spaniard people. Beautiful cities of Spain? try to vistit: Donosti-San Sebastián, Salamanca, Granada, Ronda, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra,,,,
