Before passing judgement, I would have to know how long each has been being played, they both sound excellent, however, if you just pulled the Yairi out of a box, thats not a very fair comparison, but all things being equal, Lowden is very open sounding compared to the Yairi, but i know from owning Yairi's, they take FOREVER to open up. Keep playing, or get a tonerite....seemed like the Lowden also had a larger body, but may only be my perception.

i like the yairi and i used to have an ay 20 ceder on walnut that i gave to my daughter, but in this case the george lowden wins hands down.
