Killing a Tecumseh

Trashpicked this mower. Because of the nature of trashpicking, not everything is in good condition. This is a prime example. Cylinder was scored, inky black oil and not much of it, stale gas, dirty carb, rusty deck. Basically only useful for a cool video on YouTube. My friend John helped and provided some commentary.

Update: I fixed it and briefly it ran again after this video. However, after removing the head twice and using the same gasket, it no longer seals. I am not going to put any money into it. It has already been taken to the scrap yard.

I think there is a reason this engine is fucked. Tecumseh LEV's like this one are famous for cylinder wall scoring due to inadequate oiling of the cylinder. I had one that died this way, and I've heard of others. Their old engines were great, but the LEV's were pieces of shit, they made them right up until the time the whole company bit the dust in the Tom Gores / Platinum Equity fiasco.
