We draft alot due to the lack of hydrants or pressure. This vid shows a drafting exercise already in progress.

  • Do you do your own maintenance on your apparatus? Does Pierce cover the warrenty?

  • @coolsax64 :

we contract out to a local mech. We do our own preventative.

  • At 1:05 you can see three individual vertical lights on the rear of the cab...I have seen trucks with this series of 3-4 lights on the side, but have never been 100% on their purpose. Are they pump status indicator lights?

  • They indicate how much water is in he tank. Very useful to see them from afar on scenes. They are pretty accurate.

  • I would imagine the salt water isnt good on the pump??

  • That can't be good for the pump! I'm guessing you guys flush it with freshwater each time?

  • those are tank level indicator lights, can be seen from a good distance

  • i dont know for shure but on ours one is the water level , another is the foam level and the other is the pump coolant temp
