This video shows the reason for the noise that some Nintendo Wii units make while the game disc is spinning and a possible fix for the problem. You will need to search for a guide on how to open the Wii because this is not shown in the video.

  • Thank you!!! ...you're my hero! :)

Without this tutorial I would play Skyward Sword and instead of hearing the orchestrated music I would hear the god damn Wii noise! lol...

    You're the best! :)

  • @TheLingaling I'm sorry if YOU really killed your wii but read the previous success stories in the comments and figure out what killed your wii. Videos don't kill wii's people kill wii's ;)

  • In my case the problem turned out to be the lower metal piece. (the one which the triangle is "floating above")

I pushed it downwards with a little bit of force, and the noise disappeared!

  • @Zoragorn i had to save it and quit cuz i had it up to here with that noise! thanks!!!

  • @DarthBuddy96 the battery is simply there to run the wii calendar and clock. If you remove the battery, the clock will set itself to a completely random, incorrect time when you turn your wii back on.

  • im having the exact same problem

  • it didn't work....

  • Thank you. This fixed our issue!

  • Thank you thank you! I'm having the same problem and I was afraid it would break down eventually.
