Grandpa was unable to film Mom & Dad's actual wedding, so a couple months after the fact he staged this "reception" in the living room of his College Point, NY home.

Mom & Dad had their 50th just a few years ago - way to go!

  • Amazing what a tripod will do... Wonderful! A real piece of American history....

  • @Miamiart Thank you. I wish more home movie makers had used tripods, or at least a steadier hand. So many of the ones I've seen on YouTube look like they were filmed during earthquakes!

  • Great footage & the quality is so good. How did you transfer this? Love it!

  • I took the film to a professional facility in Manhattan. They transferred it using a state-of-the-art telecine to a master beta tape, then they copied from that onto a mini-DVD tape which I used for downloading to my computer. It would have cost a lot less if I had used a Mom & Pop video store, but I knew from experience that the quality would have been inferior. I used a Crosley Turntable/CD recorder to copy the music from one of my grandfather's old records.

  • do you have a picture of your father now?

  • You can see and hear my Dad as he appears today in my YouTube video "Feeding Wild Deer in West Virginia". You can also watch a recent interview with my Mom in "1930's Comics Inside Old Log Cabin in West Virginia" - both videos are on my YouTube channel. Enjoy your visit!
