Senator Coburn objects to a series of bipartisan and noncontroversial legislation, which includes bills that protect children from Internet predators; increase penalties for child pornography, invest in research of Lou Gehrigs disease, strokes, paralysis; and the Emmett Till Unsolved Crimes Bill, that would help solve crimes that have gone unpunished since the Civil Rights era. The Bush-McCain Republicans have a choice: they can either join the side of the American people, or continue to stand beside one of their colleagues intent on blocking progress.
