  • So he synths all of his samples and tracks? What software does he use? I've been using a midi with a generating software and even with my quad 2.67GHz core, 6GB of ram and a pretty great Creative Labs sound card I get 20x more lag between the controller and generation on this gaming system than I do on an Apple Macbook. I have been much more successful with Garage Band over FL Studio 9, CuBase 5, Acid Pro 7.0, and Ableton Live 8.1.1....anyone have any tips? I got a great ambient track of G. Band

  • @XmodditE3 Creative lab sound card is poor for music production. Get a semi- pro/pro soundcard and you will see the difference. I used to be having the same problem., but once I got my Infrasonic Quartet everything started working much faster and smoother. That's the only reason I think your sysmtem is laging, otherwise you should'nt be having any problems.

  • @alex4527 - I moved on to get one of the new Macbook Pros with an Intel i7 in it, as I am off to college soon. This comes with a pretty good card but I no longer require the computer for synthesis, it just doesn't sound good and there is a lot of lag on MIDI keyboard when you rely on the computer for playback and synthesis. But is 4GB 1333 meg RAM to blame for lag? Also, how does he have every sound looping on a separate channel of the mixer? Where are those samples loaded?

  • @PrivateAccount00 Maybe you're working at very low latencies? If you have a good sound card designed for music production your system shouldn't lag, check if you're using the sound card driver and also check the latencies its working at.... I normal use low latencies only when recording MIDI samples, otherwise use high latencies for real-time playback.

guys, i think most of the synth tracks are analog sounds that he recorded. (see part one of the video)

  • Are Simon and Trent Reznor friends? It would make sense, they're both geniouses...

  • FL Studio ?!? that's like a toaster to make bread .. you put in a slice, push a button and pop goes the weasel .. if you truly want to make great and original music . re-do all the factory

settings on your equipment and program the thing from scratch

  • The master at work.

  • @PrivateAccount00 I got a MOTU Ultralite. It's a pretty decent card to start with. If you have the money to go pro, get an RME as they make some of the best soundcards. The samples in the video come from the computer. He has a soundcard with many output. Each sound is routed an output from which a cable goes to his mixer. To have a similar setup you'll need a soundcard with as many outputs as channels you want to use on the mixer. I think there are 10-12 used in this video.

  • one of the best producers in the industry and LOOK HOW SIMPLE HIS SET UP IS!

this man is pure talent. its goes to show its not what you have but how you use it and how creative you are..

  • I wouldn't call it old school, I can only wish to work like these one day... If u know what I mean...

  • @sarrabisco Might be so that he's a bit old school, but it does look cool with an entire room full of noisebringers!
