It's easier for devils like Cheney and Rumsfeld & other demons behind the scene to manipulate complete dummies like Bush. Bush can't form a coherent sentence, or at least he was unable to do so from 2000 to 2008.
I think that's also the reason why Palin came out of nowhere. McCain is reasonable and not a bad person. His stupid advisors set him up for failure by choosing dumb Palin. It is easier to manipulate and brainwash a Palin than trying to brainwash a Hillary Clinton.
