Journey's end - Iceland's bankrupt?
Iceland Prime Minister Geir Haarde adopt a carefree attitude: "We have fantastic resources and an abundance of green energy and we will now utilize that ..." Aluminium producer Alcoa and other global playing companies are rubbing their hands. Will they be the winners of the financial collapse? But what the Icelanders would win if their unique nature is damaged by dams, smelters and pollution?
Please read the book Dreamland - A Selp-Help Manual for a Frightened Nation by Andri Snaer Magnason.

This little show about LOVE, NATURE and POETRY is dedicated to all Icelanders (except for some ruthless and corrupt fat-cats and racists who only worship their own dirty skin or money).

There are some pictures from my journey to Iceland in September 2007 underlaid with the wonderful poem Ferðalok by Jónas Hallgrímsson (1807-1845). You can find an English translation of the poem on

Psotnica,
This is one of my favorite poems, as it is for many Icelanders.
Thank you very much for this beautiful video. I regard it as mine, as I do not at all belong to the horrid group you mention in your dedication.
I have put it on my blog for my blogfriends to see.
Best regards, Greta Björg
