  • Public school teachers are idiots. If they haven't noticed, people are being laid off by the thousands. They are crying about a pay cut? What planet do they live on?

  • @eatandtravel you don't get it spanky... it's about permanent pay cuts versus temporary.

  • Go Capo Teachers.. Stand Strong.. you have support!

  • Ths situation in CALIFORNIA is not a temporary situation. Teachers should take the cut--and be happy they still have a job. EVERYONE is carrying an economic burden in CA--well, even many of us here in OTHER states will be bailing CA out.

Teachers deserve the best---but when you're a state that needs bailouts---i find their disgruntled attitude to be WAY out of touch.

  • Don't be surprised, this isn't the first or last thing that the District will do to make everyone mad.

  • Greedy teachers!

  • These teachers are the some of the highest paid union employees in the nation. They have fat retirement benifits that are bankrupting our state. They need to understand that people that pay for their salaries and pensions are broke. Get use to it. Look at Greece it will be coming soon to California and these union employees will have no job and no pension. Wake up and smell the coffee! There is no money and there may be no jobs soon. The hurting has just begun in California.

  • These teachers should be embarrassed. The average teacher in that district makes about $55 per hour + benefits + a pension. Government school is an economic cancer in California and everywhere else. Considering the economy right now, these people are lucky that people willing to work for $30 per hour (or less) aren't lining up to take their place. But at least they're preparing students to do well on standardized tests, which is SUCH an important real-life skill.

  • @Akornent2

LOL! 'Permanent' is a long time, Homer. Am I suppose to feel sorry for people who still have jobs? Get a clue.

If they feel they are being exploited, go find another job. Trust me. They can find another PE teacher any day.

  • If they feel that they are being exploited, QUIT! Go find another job in this economy. Best of luck to ya.

  • @hologuitar your comment speaks for itself.
