Compare Bing's rendition with well-known ones by Ella and Frank. Ella's is pure jazz, Frank's is jazzy, but only Bing has the ability to sing the song straight, on-the-beat with respect for the song in a way that Irving Berlin had in mind. What a treasure that man was!
Does anyone know if Bing did Blue Skies in a separate, single recording?
I love this song. I am a baritone in a SAB three part harmony for this in May Festival of the Arts. Bing Crosby is amazing, and I am astounded at the works that he has produced. Plain amazing!
@LestatDeBratPrince It's not the original, the original is from Irvin Berlin.
Anyway, Brent Spiner did a brillant job on this song.

I first heard this song in the movie "Nemesis" when the character Data played by Brent Spiner sings it at a wedding.
I've wanted to hear the original since then! <3
