Check out demo vid using one of John John Florences little 2" thick PU foam board with super light competition single 4 ounce glass job.

SOMA AirBag Designs has taken board bag protection to a new level being exponentially more protective than the thickest of standard foam bags. There has been minimal evolution of protective surfboard bag design since its inception. SOMA has now taken it to the next level with our CAD engineered technology engaging compounded functionality of protection and symmetry utilizing air pressure and dimension. Our bags also have the convenience of compact portability along with less weight (deflates and rolls into a 26x7 carrying bag). SOMA AirBag Designs are fabricated using strong Polyester with Poly Vinyl Chloride triple coated materials and sonic heat welded. This results in a single continuous piece of material leaving them virtually stitch free and seamless for unmitigated strength.

SOMA has designed the air compartments into narrow linear columns. This keeps the protective air pressure isolated and firm in order to deflect damaging contact with your board and disperse the energy. This includes an individual column that wraps around the circumference of the rails that is ALSO fused with 7mm closed cell foam for double rail protection as well as extra reinforcement around the tail and nose. It is also common knowledge that a snug fitting board bag offers the best protection and Soma AirBags literately mold around your board like a glove.

Soma has also designed its patented engineered AIR-P (Asymmetrical Interior Rocker Protection) which protects your board from flexing or snapping due to extreme impacts or heavy baggage stacked on your board. This is due to the interior shape compensation protecting the nose and tail rocker.

  • Still don't see Long Board version. What's the status on their release?

  • February 1st! Up to 9'6.

  • What happens if it pops? Could something sharp puncture it?

  • Check out the new vid clip demo we posted last week under Soma AirBag Designs for even more thorough durability tests. Visuals are the best answers. We use medical grade materials which are much stronger along with a much higher resistant peel rate in comparison with stock material used by current board bags (check your bag for any tears). We've gone through rougher R+D testing of sharp corners, rocks and dragging than any airport handlers or jungle travellers will endure. Email for more info

  • how tall can it get when u inflate it (im not talking about height or width, but the other dimention (forgot the name)) and what are the full dimentions

  • Approximately 8.5" at the thickest point. The interior accomodates the rocker curvature allowing the demonstrated protection known as Asymmetrical Interior Rocker Protection. The maximum volume per each panel is 3" at it's thickest points.

  • KILLER board bag. I just got one and it works/looks even better than the vid. Unreal how something this tough can stow away so compact.
